BLACK RANGE scores an overall rating of “very good” in “outdoor” magazine’s trekking jacket test and receives coveted “Buyers’ Tip” award
For their April 2006 issue, German magazine “outdoor" tested a selection of mid-range trekking jackets in the EUR 200 price category. The test criteria were weather protection, wearer comfort, climate control, functionality and price/ performance. It was good news again for our products, as the following extract from the test report shows: “The BLACK RANGE is the ideal jacket for easy-going trekking trips. Protection is very good, it is pleasant to wear and robust.” The MOUNTAIN RANGE also achieved a good test result.
The “outdoor” testers were full of praise for the BLACK RANGE MEN, noting that “In this category, there is really no other viable alternative to the BLACK RANGE. The long cut keeps wind and weather at bay, it is comfortable and the tough shell fabric performs well even when carrying a large, heavy pack. In addition, two roomy chest pockets provide useful storage space when the lower pockets are concealed by the rucksack waist belt.”
Our MOUNTAIN RANGE WOMEN also received a good test verdict: “Another nice piece. In the MOUNTAIN RANGE, JACK WOLFSKIN has teamed a silky-soft polyester fabric with robust polyamide to produce a jacket that is also suitable for trekking use. It is comfortable to wear and features two useful chest pockets that are accessible when wearing a rucksack waist belt. There is not much to complain about with regard to weather protection, either – apart from the rather small hood peak, this is top-notch.
Verdict: a long style, comfortable women’s jacket for hiking and trekking use that provides good weather protection.”
