Ideal for winter trekking: extremely warm, yet light in weight and with a very compact pack size. This winter jacket looks like a classic down jacket but benefits instead from a MICROGUARD SILVER quilted interlining, which provides similar insulation to a down fill but is less sensitive to moisture and is far simpler to maintain. The windproof and highly water repellent STORMLOCK RIPSTOP shell fabric provides an effective barrier to the wind and snow.
BASIC HOODThis button/zip-off hood extends deep into the collar area to deliver reliable foul weather protection. When detached, the hood stows away neatly in its own dedicated inner pouch. 1. One-hand-operated, encapsulated draw cord for field of vision regulation 2. One-hand-operated volume adjustment 3. Storm peak. Inner pocket in which the detached hood can be securely stowed. Internal Fleece CuffsAdditional, snug-fit fleece cuffs inside the sleeves to prevent wind and cold penetration and the associated risk of undercooling. MICROGUARD SILVER MICROGUARD SILVER consists of three components and delivers effective and comfortable insulation at a minimum weight: 1. A layer of fine micro fibres to provide optimal insulation at a minimum weight, a soft feel and superb compressibility (MICRO). 2. A stabilising outer layer of thermally bonded mixed fibres to provide a good loft and durability (GUARD). 3. An additional thin layer of breathable fleece with bonded silver particles on the contact side. These silver particles reflect the heat generated by the body and improve the heat retention properties by up to 20% (Silver). STORMLOCK RIPSTOP An extremely lightweight ripstop fabric (48g/m2) made from polyamide yarn with a very thin, microporous PU coating that renders the material windproof, durably water repellent and highly breathable. TACTEL TAFFETA A tabby weave, highly durable, 6.6 nylon fabric by INVISTA. The material has a soft feel, a smooth surface and delivers good ripstop and abrasion resistant performance in spite of the low intrinsic weight. |
